Boys Rule Sketch 2

My good friend Jenny is a dab hand at creating sketches (among her many talents!)
She has some up at the Boys Rule Kit Club  and I loved this one with the circles

I had the perfect pics of Leon and the dogs greeting him! They are funny but when we are away they seem to know that he will be there at all times, so whenever he goes out of sight they are crying and barking and looking for him. There was this cute little pathway with a small white wooden gate at the top and they spent ages with their heads on the gate "waiting! I've got more close up pics of their heads peeping above so you will see those on a page soon too!
Here is my take;

My simple stories "Destinations" were great for this sketch and I didn't add anything else much apart from one of my camera stamps from The Girls Paperie stamped onto the SS paper and pop dotted and 2 grommets(think thats what they are called lol)
I cut out the numbered strips from a sheet and ran them through the printer for my journaling which reads "On holiday you can't be out of the dogs sight for more than a minute, before they are looking for you. This little gate at Glan Y Mor was a perfect spot for them to watch for you to come back" October 2011
I used some of the tranparencies that come with the paper pack. I aslo cut one of the little bingo cards thats on the front of the pack and tucked it behind one of the photos.
I like how this turned out hope you like it too.

Page maps sketch contest

Couldn't resist playing along with this sketch over at Pagemaps There is an awesome prize too of some goodies from CHA

I used Bella Boulevard Tail Waggers & Cat Naps collection October Afternoon and Adornit alphas stickers Also a couple of pieces from K&Company (the tag, the leaves & the be happy words)
I don't often use ric rac but I really liked it as a border across the top and bottom.

These pics are of me and my friends rottie puppy Sox, she really does love me, so much so that if I have visited after I leave she cries at the door for a time for me to come back. It's hilarious

A couple of close ups
I stitched the zig zags onto a piece of cardstock inked the edges with black and the adhered them to the base cardstock for a bit more of a 3d effect
and how could I resist cutting out a couple of the little dogs and the trees!
Hope you like it

CSI case 2 solved

Had such fun playing along last week and I am
This weeks pallette was just as much fun & with a great inspiration board I played along again

I used all sorts on this page
Some very old Urban Lily for the raspberry, the stripe is from the Love me do range by MME, the yellow is Emma's Shoppe by Crate Paper and the blue that I embossed with the brick embossing folder is unknown but was in my scraps bag and seemed to be a great match there is also some coredinations cardstock for the lighter blue and once again I don't know who the polka is by that I have used for the tags.
I gathered all the evidence, bricks, gemstones, flowers, something sheer(lace behind the flower), swirls/flourish,and for my journaling, as it is very personal, I have written it on the 2 polka dot tags in a stream of consciousness
(pic to follow)
Hope you will find time to pop over to CSI and play also if you say "Hello" in the chatroom there is usually somebody there to answer

CSI case 1 solved

My good friend Debbi has launched a new website called CSI (colour stories and inspiration) and if you havn't checked it out yet it is so worth a visit. Its a colour challenge site and so much more with each "case"
Here is case 1
Now I must admit that I struggle with colour challenges as a rule but this one has just so many prompts and things to ease you into it. I first went with picking the papers which are from a variety of different manufacturers, then one of the journaling prompts was to document something mad silly or crazy and I came across the pictures of Leon and Byron on Star's scooter and voila I was up and running!
Here is what I came up with
Stars on my layouts seem to be the theme this week lol
I distressed all the papers and also doodled around all the edges (it's been ages since I did that but I love the definition it gives!)
Supplies used
Cosmo cricket Garden Variety (mini deck)
Crate Paper random
Studio Calico - Armstrong
MM - journal book - paper reverie sienna
cant for the life of me remember the ruler piece but I think it was october afternoon
Star & arrow stickers by Sassafras
7 gypsies word stickers
Cosmo cricket - tiny type alphas
and the swirls were part of a rub on by Foof-a-la
AC vinyl thickers

and  a close up before I go

I do hope you will pop over and play along or visit the chatroom it's such a great place to hang out!
There is a new case each week and you get plenty of time to upload

Scrappy Chics January kit

As I got my kit a little later this month (due to the christmasness!) I whipped up a few Christmas cards for next year lol You can never be over prepared right?!
The Authentique papers in the kit are just so nice to work with I added some white cardstock and glitter, fussy cut some of the patterns out to make embellishments and these cards came together quite easily.

I bought this frame while xmas shopping and decided it would be great to alter it for my inlaws
It started life looking like this
With a little added white paint and the contents of the kit I transformed it into this

I painted it added some glitter then embellished it with the authentique papers in a similar way to how I made the cards.I cut the ribbon and glued it around one of the pictures. The snowflakes were punched with a Martha Stewart punch.
A close up of the glitteryness

There are also some Glitz design papers in the kit and I hope to make a layout with them soon to share with you
Hope you liked my projects.  Head over to the site to see more of the fab DT work

AAM - It's my party challenge

{AAM January Challenge} It's My Party!

This is my birthday month and while this is definitely a place where we are challenging you to scrap about YOU, we can also take that idea and still include those we love in the mix. Who is your rock? Your go to? The one you love. Is it your significant other? If you are single, do you have a best friend that is always there for you or perhaps it's a relative like your mama or grandma. Whoever it is, it's time to dedicate a page to them.

The twist to keeping it about YOU is all in your journaling. Think about how this person influences YOU. How do they make YOU feel? Do they define a turning point in YOUR life? Have they been a constant for YOU? See where I'm going here?

Do you have more than one person in your life? Is it hard to choose? Consider a multi-photo layout showcasing your "village". Or organize them into groups - friends, life event, etc. and do one layout for each. Too much? Narrow it down to that one! You can do it. And when it comes to it, it's YOUR layout so you do it the way you want to.
There is no sponsor this month. Instead, we'll be showcasing YOU and your layouts at the end of the month. I never want this site to be about the prizes, although they are GREAT incentive and motivation. This place is here as free inspiration and to get you digging deep in a fun and therapeutic way. :)
So... if you share your layouts below, we'll be featuring you right here... on the AAM blog at the end of the month. Can't wait to see who you share with us!

I focused on my eldest daughter and how she is like a gift to me, she brings me joy everyday of my life and I couldn't have wished for a more beautiful girl. I have used hidden journaling on a tab that pulls out, as I felt this Confetti collection  by American Crafts was much to busy to write on.
I have used a couple of Mya Road star pins and some twine. The small pink and turquoise alphas are by Adorn it, the small tag with "all the time" on is quite old and from my stash The smile and laugh stickers are also very old not sure who they are by, all other supplies are AC

Here is a close up with the journaling tab pulled out
The journaling reads "As a daughter you are much more than any Mother could wish for. You are a gift to me and I am so proud of you" Love Mum

Hope you will find the time to join in the challenge it is always good to see other peoples take
