Picnic time with Papermaze

Do you ever see a paper and it reminds you of something?

http://www.papermaze.co.uk/product/summer-lovin/carta-bella-summer-lovin-watermelon

When I saw this watermelon paper from the Summer Lovin collection by Carta Bella it just shouted "picnics"

I was inspired to make these cutlery holders that I could slip some plastic cutlery in to take on my picnic. I think they makes things a little fun too.

using a sheet of red cardstock and my cameo I cut out the pockets for the cutlery to sit in.  I tucked a piece of the green lace behind the band for a little more rustic look and I think they are pretty darn cute. I then fussy cut 2 of the melon shapes out and glued them back to back onto a cocktail stick to create some toothpicks for after your food. Cant wait for my next picnic!

Scraps Of Everyday Life with Bo Bunny

Two posts in one day it's absurd! lol
Today I am also up on the Bo Bunny Blog sharing this layout.

Scraps Of Everyday Life by Tracee Provis

As scrappers we record our lives through our pages when I was asked to create with the theme everyday life I wanted to make something that represented the little snippets that make up my life. I always have the camera close to hand ready to capture those memories so this picture was a perfect fit for my layout.

I wanted to add some smaller pictures of the things my camera is always focused on so I printed them off and fitted them into the Kraft Wood film strip frame. I used one of the stamps from the Distressed Textures stamp set to create some pattern to my Sugar Dot background paper and I also stamped over some of the patterned paper too.

The page itself was made from mostly scraps of Bo Bunny collections. I have a special box for them that sits on my desk, I love some of the irregular shapes that these scraps create and by adding some fussy cut elements and stickers it brings the whole layout together.

CSI case 136 - Solved

I have been solving cases again over at CSI and I am very bad as they haven't been uploaded to my blog. I shall be attempting to "catch up" over the next couple of weeks and sharing the case files here on my blog.
This is the current case file  - 136

and here is how I solved it

I think my little grandie is such a Cool Kid so I used that to make up my own dictionary definition

A couple of close ups

I have been cleaning up things in my Scraproom ready for the big overhaul that should be happening at the end of this month (fingers crossed) its amazing the bits I have discovered I found the butterfly the brads and the pleated lace in amongst one box of scrappy bits. They were perfect for this case file. I have been waiting for the right layout for the polka dot alphas too.

I created my background with a Prima Chevron mask and some distress ink, the pink was slightly too bright so I inked over it with some white ink to tone it down to match the palette. I added some mesh behind the layers but most of it got covered as my layout progressed.
My polka dot paper behind the photo has photographed a little on the yellow side but it matches the palette perfectly IRL and was taken from the six by six paper pad Hootenanny by MME
More "found" items on my page are the Star the "groovy" tag

Hope you find time to solve the case file this week and all the details can be found here

The world is full of Magic with Papermaze

I am up on the Papermaze blog today with this post.

This month I was sent a very eclectic mix of papers and being a bit of a creative slump at the moment I was a bit puzzled as to what I was going to create.
I had this cut file on my Cameo just waiting for the right layout to place it on. . . voila. I added a little mixed media and some of the previous bits and pieces I have been sent from the shop this year and this is what I came up with.

The washi tape with clouds and hearts on matched perfectly with the reds and blues in the papers.
I wanted the title to stand out and not be lost on the page, by placing it on the red side of the Echo Park - Walking on Sunshine Beach Stripe paper.

I stamped onto the red paper with some versamark ink and clear embossing powder to create some texture to the paper. I used more ink and a stencil for the polka dots behind the photo. Before I glued my title down I carefully went around the edges with a sharpie marker to make it stand out a little more. I like the multi coloured look that the Puddle Jumper paper by Pink Paislee gives to my title. I used a faux stitch stamp for my page much quicker than the sewing machine!

Back to School with Bo Bunny

We were asked to make some desk décor with the Back to School theme
My project is up on the Bo Bunny blog today
Back To School by Tracee Provis

What better way to brighten up your desk than a fun desk tidy to keep all your supplies close to hand.
The Pop Quiz collection is perfect for all things school related and I loved creating this project with it.

I started by painting this wooden cutlery holder from Ikea, I added some Washi tape around the bottom and some rulers from the Pincushion Collection along the top edges to cover up some of the plain wood. Using the Library sheet from the Pop Quiz Collection I created a perpetual calendar that hangs on the front of the tidy. I added tabs to the month stickers from the Zip A Dee Doodle collection to make them interchangeable and the ones you aren't using can be stored in the drawer underneath, along with all of your smaller supplies.

I used all 4 sides of the holder to hold my supplies, on the back I created a cork board for notes. I took the pencil chipboard sticker from the 12 x 12 pack and added a magnetic strip to hold the paper/tickets/notes. As it's cork you could also add some push pins as well.

For the drawer I used another of the 12 x 12 chipboard pieces on the front and as well as looking awesome it acts as a strengthener for the drawer front. I covered the rest of the drawer with the Graduation sheet using the houndstooth patterned side.
As a final touch I fussy cut some of the sweet monsters from the Our Lil Monster collection and they just peek out from here and there putting a smile on my face every time I see them.
