Creative Scrappers 226

Wow doesn't time fly round, it's sketch 226 from Creative Scrappers already!
I have been having so much fun on the DT I can't believe my term is almost up!
Loved the sketch this week from Nicole a great one to work with
This was the sketch
and here is my take
I dug through my scraps box and used all sorts of bits and pieces
I used a journaling pocket in place of one of the pictures and I fussy cut around my pic. I moved the chevrons to the bottom, I love the splatters on the sketch and added some black paint flicked from a brush here and there.
A couple of close ups

For more inspiration please visit the blog for the rest of the DT examples
Hope everyone has a great Sunday

Stitchy not scrappy

I have been playing around with fabrics for a week or so, a little patchwork here a bit of purse making there. Last night whilst surfing I came across this tutorial for a woven basket using burlap and I thought I know I will make one with an old pair of denim jeans!
Here it is TA DA!
I cut the small pocket from the jeans and re-stitched it to the front of the basket

and added a red polka dot liner

I made it for my youngest Poppy and she loves it!

Creative Scrappers 224

Time for another great sketch from Creative Scrappers and as always amazing work from the DT
This was the sketch
And here is my take
Rodney is somewhat obsessed by chasing pebbles when we go to the beach, he sort of dives on them as you can see in the pic.
A couple of close ups

I used Fancy Pants wave searcher pp, along with a MME Journal  Card, then a few bits and pieces from various such as Sssafras, Jenni Bowlin and Jillibean Soup.
I got messy with a mask, gesso and texture paste and a little carried away with my stitched sun lol
Hope you get chance to play along this week

Monthly Crop - Paper Cuts

Yesterday was my monthly crop we are now "Paper Cuts" using a new kit and the first chance to play in Kim's wonderful new scraproom (wish I had taken pics and then you could see how lovely it is)
From now on we will be using the monthly kit over at Papermaze which is full of great goodies.
This was the kit we got to play with

Kim gave us some great examples all with a sunburst theme. You can see them on her blog HERE
Here is the layout I created

I am really pleased with how it turned out.
Kim added the vellum hearts and the resin flowers and I added the little bits of bling and the beautiful tag

Something to share

A couple of months ago I had a commission from The Scrapbook Magazine
It was called a 4 ways challenge, where 4 designers get given the same supplies and each creates a layout
We were given the lovely American Crafts Neapolitan range along with some ribbon and cardstock
Here is my layout in the mag

and here it is just as it is
It's so exciting to see your own work in a magazine, gives me a thrill everytime!

Creative Scrappers 220

It's reveal day at creative scrappers and a great fun sketch by Jenny Evans

here is how I interpreted the sketch

I have had this sheet of paper by Pink Paislee for ages and it has a sort of raised embossed pattern on it great for a background.
The other papers are mainly MME
I used some thickers october afternoon and rub ons for the title
The lampost is by Dusty Attic and makes a striking element when painted with black (I also added some yellow pp to make it look as if the lights were on).
I changed up the sketch a little but not too much.
Hope you get chance to check out what the DT did and play along
