More Studio Calico

Some of the papers in this months Studio Calico were quite "not me" but I decided to come out of my comfort zone and tackle them lol
I popped over to XOXO to lift one of this months layouts. I chose to lift Ana's LO as I was inspired by the paper placement that I thought suited the papers I was using
Here is my take on Ana's LO
My youngest on her 18th birthday last year
Everything apart from the mist & blue thickers was in the kit, wish I had got some add ons tho!
Would appreciate your thoughts on this one as I'm really not sure about it

Watery Fun

Decided to bite the bullet and dip into my Studio Calico kit
I have quite a few pics of Rodney on the beach and there were lots of blues in the kit so I decided to go with that. I used Sketch Inspiration #208 and came up with this!
I splashed some actyllic white paint around then when it was dry I used some bubble wrap and versamark champagne its got a bit of a glittery sheen to it that I thought reflected sand. I recently bought some rectangular doillies in the What shop, there are loads of them in the pack for 79p , I used one behind the pp, the white thickers are from a Scrapbook Nook kit a couple of months ago and I outlined them with a brown fineliner, I made the circular embellishment with some of the pp lace and a brad (also from What 12 for 90p!)I painted a white patch over the pictures added some jute and a jolies anchor sticker with a bit of twine tied onto it.I had a bag of seashells from who knows where added some loose threads from the jute to them in a little cluster.
Whew I think thats the longest description I've ever done LOL.

Hope you like it

Scrapjacked again

There were some great layouts to lift this month at  scrapjacked I chose Bec's layout as I loved the stamping behind the picture and the lacy borders.
I also combined the lift with this weeks colour palette(179) at CCG
Had fun creating this using Teresa Collins blush range punched borders and basic grey stamps
Here is my take on the LO

Feb Nook kit

This months kit was full of Websters pages pp, now these papers quite flumox me and I decided to try a lift from one of my fave gals Fi
This is the LO I was lifting ( I say was as it doesnt really look anything like it) I am pleased with the end result tho I dont think it is going to become a top fave manufacturer for me
Here is my LO using the Hollywood Vogue range
the alphas are both cosmo cricket and some liquid pearls (now made quite easy with beks flicking technique!)
Would appreciate some feedback

Kraft it up Feb challenge

Played along at Kraft it up again this month. This time it was a colour challenge to use orange black and blue
Here is what I created
I started by using a honeycomb mask and a couple of different mists (also had to flick a bit of white paint around to lift it slightly)I used Stamping up pp & a small strip of October afternoon lots of brads and thickers The flower was made using this tutorial over at Ideas for Scrapbookers if you have never seen this blog head over and have a look they have some really great tutorials and ideas, I use it quite a lot
The pic is an old one of me with my previous 2 dogs Bonnie the Golden Retriever and Whiskey a small x breed that I inherited from my grandparents when they died & I just have to say what on earth posessed me to wear ORANGE! lol
