Gift box and matching card with Bo Bunny Madeline collection

My friends birthday is coming up and I needed a box for her gift. I pulled out the gorgeous Madeline collection from Bo Bunny, its so delicate and pretty.

I cut the pillow box on my Cameo and then decorated it using the 6 x 6 pad.
I fussy cut some of the frames and layered them up over some torn strips of paper, to add a little glitter and sparkle to the box I used a paintbrush and went along the edges with the Bo Bunny Silver Glitter Paste

After I had finished the box I thought a card to match would be a perfect set and so using the 12 x 12 paper this time I created the card to match.
I hope my friend likes her little gift it was certainly fun to make

Dabbling in Mixed Media

Right now I am here with these guys...... relaxing and crafting the day away

I was scrolling through my facebook feed when I came across this challenge by the Mixed Media Place
The challenge immediately appealed to me as this holiday has a very special place in my heart. There is nothing better than being close to the shore and for 2 weeks each year we are lucky enough to able to spend time here.
I found this shell on the beach this morning and when it was opened looked just like the shape of a heart. The title of the song by Sting -  Shape of my heart, its kinda how I feel about it here.
I havn't dabbled a great deal in Mixed Media, I don't know why because I really enjoy it!

I just love how this turned out!
I didn't do anything to the shells themselves apart from a coating of decoupage glue, they have this lovely gold sheen to them. I embossed the heart shape that I drew and pressed the shells into it.
I used lots of different mists and some wax pastel crayons that I didn't even realise I had until I was clearing out my craftroom for the big refit.
I hope you like my take on the challenge

CSI 139 - Solved

I didn't think I was going to have time to solve this fabulous case file this week as I am in the middle of clearing and storing my craftroom ready for the big refit at the end of this month.
But I worked a lot quicker than I thought and I managed to come up with a layout that I am quite pleased with.
Also this week there is the added bonus of a sketch by Em from Page Drafts, the design team & guest designers have done a fabulous job seriously go check them out here
This was the case file
And here is my take using the sketch

Stripes
Clouds
String
Something Fuzzy (the blue brads are velvety)

Journal about pets/animals
I have tucked my journaling on the tag behind the photo it reads;

Zakynthos is home to the endangered Loggerhead Turtle
The Bay of Laganas  is the most important breeding ground for the Mediterranean Loggerhead, you can take a boat trip around the bay in the hope of spotting one of these magnificent creatures.
I was lucky to snap this pic of one just poking his head up as if to say Hi.
It saddens me to think that yet another of our glorious species is in an endangered position.

A couple of close ups

I decided to create a mixed media type background to represent the large triangle on the sketch, I used a Bo Bunny template and sponged some ink onto the paper . I then used a Cocoa Daisy grid stamp and a colour pastel pencil to add some more interest. A little splattered ink and a few sequins finished it off nicely.

The papers I used were from an old Delish designs paper called Buffet, the "cool" sticker is also quite old. I just love to use up older stash to make way for the new, ok so the new find there way in regardless but for a minute it sounded good lol

I hope you will find time to join in the fun this week
