2 for 1 or 1 for 2

Did this LO for 2 different challenges
1 was another scraplift over at XOXO and the other a sketch challenge at Creative Scrappers
This one took me along time and there is "real" right there on the page. I still cannot find the courage to put the journaling there in black and white so am going to make a little envelope and attach it to the back.
Am getting to grips a little more with the cosmic shimmer mists and this time I actually managed to get it where I wanted it lol. I blanket stitched around the edge of the black cardstock and stitched the journaling lines and around the word "my". the bird stamp is from basic grey, up in the right hand corner I tore a hole in the cs and stitched it back up with wire (there is a sticker behind it that says "home is a refuge).
I used some liquid pearls trailing from the butterfly and a couple of rub ons all of which are just lingering about in my stash (am getting through all the "odd bits" slowly)
I did journal a few lines which say " My Space isn't measured by cubic feet"
Wow a big description for me!

Colour Combo's Galore is back

I love this site but it has been all quiet over there for a few months but now it is back and this was the colour combo for this time
turquoise - icing - cookie dough - pink sprinkles
I had this LO sitting on my desk for a couple of days and with a couple of colour changes it fits right in with the combo
Here is the LO I completed

I used a page from the sky magazine and the tear was a happy accident that I filled with gems for a bit of bling. I made the tissue paper flower  and I think they are really effective.
The chipboard alpha is by BG and I used white acryllic paint behind the photo. I have distressed the edges but this was the best pic I could get and had to crop the edges off lol

So Girly

I found a fun new challenge blog called XOXO where each week the 'lipstick chicks' each post a layout and you pick and choose as many as you want to scraplift elements from to create your own layout. How fun is that??? This month is sponsored by Color Me Miki and they have the most generous kit I've seen up for grabs this month. So go play along!!
Here is my lift of this LO by Lizzie Oakly I have wanted to try a 6x12 lo for ages and this great LO convinced me to do so.

I love Peggy in this pose she is so girly when she wants to really play
I used crate paper seasons collection again with a totally different look

Finally something to share - out for publication!!

Seems like forever ago that I shared a LO
I have been in a dark place and my mojo has been lord knows where, so I went on the lookout for a challenge as they always drag me back up
Over at Sarahs cards the challenge was to use paint on your LO, I love stamping with bubble wrap and I was rather pleased with the way the background came out (on the 2nd attmpt that is LOL)
I don't really like this pic of me and DH but my daughter was down scrapping with me and we each chose a picture for the other to use! I gave it a soppy title (and I know the words are and they called it puppy love.) cos it's a soppy sort of pic
The little pink puppy is actually a page from a notepad I have and the PP is from my scraps box (the "love" word is love elsie fabric paper)
Hope you like it

Making bags

This months project at Vanilla Sugar was make or alter a bag. I was getting rid of some clothes that no longer fitted but I had kept them just in case (size 10 Yeah right!!!!) I really liked them and was reluctant to part with them so this got me thinking what I could do with them. My neighbour is into quilting a bit and I have always wanted to give it a try so I went online and found a tutorial for a "rag bag" and after cutting all my squares I was set to go I used the pockets and flaps to add texture and interest to the fronts and sides
This one was made from a 2 pairs of trousers
and not the best pic but I used the sleeve off a blouse to make an inside ruched pocket

The next one I made was from another pair of trousers(brand new with tags on that I bought from a boot sale for 50p, when was I going to wear orange. . !) and a skirt that I bought from the boot sale simply for the fabric. I use this one as my crochet bag currently holding the wool for my granny square blankie

The pocket was simply the pocket on the trousers that I just cut off and restitched to the front of the bag

I also added some side detail to this one using the belt loops(not really much use for anything other than decoration tho lol)
I also made a bag for my grandaughter but I didn't get a pic before I gave it to her I will "borrow" it and take one so you can see the cute shoulder bag
Thanks for Looking
