This is not tidying up!

I started to tidy up my scraproom today as I have piles on my piles so to speak!
I got as far as putting my tools away and then this happened . . . . .
Not cleaning up I know but a quick fun layout about my best boy Rodney, I was going to actually put the pic away and then I spotted my Echo Park Carta Bella - Happy Little Moments paper collection that I got for xmas and the two looked so cute together LOL
I used the chevron and the arrow stamp again to create the background along with a homemade circle mask that I inked with Weathered Wood distress ink
Will add some close ups tomorrow

Papermaze

Time for a sketch

Hope you are all having a good week, it's my turn up today and I have a sketch to share with you.
I am still loving the Pink Paislee portfolio collection and used the matching stamps as well this time. They are so sweet, as are my Daughter and Granddaughter in the pic
Here is the layout I created

I did quite a bit of stamping creating both the background and some of the embellishments.
I love the chipboard hearts just as they are, but you can mist or ink them to whatever colour you like

This is the sketch I used, that I found on Pinterest

And some close ups
I stamped the speech bubble stamps onto plain white cardstock then cut them out

These thickers were black so I put a thin layer of Gesso on to make them grey

The alphas from the basic grey Serenade sticker sheet were a great match to the Portfolio papers
Hope you like it

Mini book

It's my turn on the Papermaze blog today and I'm up with a sweet little mini book

This month I got to play with the gorgeous Pink Paislee - Portfolio collection
These happen to have my favourite colours combo's in blues and yellows
I had the 6 x 6 pad in front of me and suddenly decided to make a mini book of our holiday to Poppit Sands.
Along the way I added a few alphas and things from previous Papermaze kits that matched the papers

For the front cover I used a thick piece of cardstock some gesso and I made a circle mask by punching circles out of an odd piece of cardstock then sprayed tattered angels mist through it

I added a few pockets that you can easily put tags and extra photos in & some machine stitching always adds another texture to the page

Here I made an interactive page using a cameo cut file
The front showing the picture and flip it over to show the journaling

You can use full size pictures (in this case my album is 4 x 6) and then decorate direct onto the picture

Another interactive page using a photo turn, and the final page with a pocket and an envelope which came from the January kit.
The papers have lots of detail already printed on and all it needs is a photo or 2 and you are done

I bound it all using kraft cardstock and some book rings, then if I want to I can add more pages at a later date.

CSI case file 58 - solved

Loved having the sketch this week as well as the grgeous palette to work with

Evidence
Wood - wooden arrows and heart
Metal - Brads and eyelets
String - bakers twine
Jewels - Pearls in the brads
Create a jagged edge, I cut the papers at the top and bottom in a sort of jagged way
Lacing- I used the bakers twine to string the pictures together
Something sheer - vellum
Washers eyelets
Testimony
I attepmted a comparison type paragraph that reads

Poppy
As I look at this photo taken when you were about 4/5 years old I can see so much of you as you are now
You have that same cheeky grin, the mischief in your eyes, the beauty in your face and sparkle in your smile
Your personality is infectious and you never fail to amaze me in everything you do!
Here now past & present always remember that you are loved lots especially by ME!
Love Mum

I printed it out onto white cardstock and attached a vellum tab so that I could tuck it down behind the photo

I had fun with the cameo and used a cut file to create my negative title.
I am really loving my cameo and try to use it everytime I scrap, it's much easier than I had anticipated for anyone who is thinking of getting one.
Just need the weather to brighten up to get some better pictures of my layouts!
