Altered Spool with Bo Bunny

I came across this photo of my sweet Granddaughter that I had already fussy cut (cant remember why now!), It is a perfect match for the Bo Bunny Madeline collection.
I wanted to create a little ornament for her bedroom, and so I put together this altered spool and I think its rather cute!

I took an old wrapping paper tube and added a circle of chipboard to both the bottom and the top, then I gathered up the Madeline collection and started to decorate.
The Petals made great wings and I added a little sparkle of silver glitter paste then attached them to the back of the photo.

I also added glitter to the Chipboard sticker using a paintbrush so that I could get it exactly where I wanted it.
More petals were added to the sticker and it layers up so beautifully, I used the pearlescents as a paint to subtly colour the doily on the base. For the finishing touch to make it perfectly girly I added some delicate pink jewels around the edges.
Result - one happy Granddaughter!

Journal something about your creativity
I have journaled simply on the back
You guys are my reason to create, My muse, My World, My truth, My love forever

A couple of close ups

I am trying to create with more of a clean and simple look (getting frustrated with the mixed media and warpy pages, its not so much that they are warpy but that they create the most horrendous shadows when trying to photograph them lol)
I found lots of bits to create my cluster some old and some older still, the labels and ticket stickers are an old October Afternoon Rocket Age collection. The newer bits are by Teresa Collins and Studio Calico

I love the lightbulb paperclip that I added as one of the clues, I found them in the £1 shop and am kicking myself for only buying one pack!
I wrote my journaling on the back of this and kept it short and sweet as a message to my DH, who is a great inspiration and reason to create
I hope you will find time to play along this week and its almost time for the new members of the DT to be revealed so keep your eyes peeled for that too!

Halloween Treat bags

I am up on the Papermaze blog with this post
Hi Tracee with you today with the first of my Halloween projects.
I will be sharing the others through the month so we can be all prepared for the 31st

I loved some of the Halloween collections that the store carries and asked if I could be sent some to play with this month. The Echo Park Carta Bella Spooky collection was perfect for the things I had in mind and I always love working with their collections as the paper has a slight textured feel to it (and always smells nice - yes I am a paper sniffer lol)

I made 2 different types of Treat bags

For the first one I simply cut some witches legs on my Cameo and layered them with Orange & Black cardstock.

Using the Spooky & Scary sheet I created a little skirt for her which I then edged with some gorgeous black lace, popped on a spider and it was done.

For the next bag I used my cameo again to cut the spiders web and then I created a tag to go on the front using the same Spooky & Scary sheet along with some of the elements from the 12 x 12 sticker sheet.

All that remains is to fill them with treats and I am going to personalise these for when my Granddaughter visits with her friends on the 31st
See you later in the month with more Halloween ideas.
