March 2Crafty Chipboard Shares

Here are my shares for 2Crafty Chipboard this month.

Life Is Wonderful by Tracee Provis

My best friends son recently had a baby and so I thought i would create a page for her. I used only a small amount of patterned paper and a mixed media background to allow my chipboard pieces to be the main focus of my page, apart from the photo of course.

But before we get started
Please remember while you are here  to become a blog follower
& leave a blog comment to be eligible to go in our monthly draw
for a great chippie prize pack.

For my title chippie I simply inked it directly onto the raw chipboard, this allows the chipboard to absorb the ink slightly and gives a deep colour to it. I used "Triangles" to create some movement to my page and I covered these with patterned paper.

I used the words Father & Son from the "Family" word pack, I gave them the same coating of ink as I did on the "Life Is Wonderful" title. I then adhered them to a triangle and I cut some small pieces of the "Fine Heart Border" strips to underline these.

The Mother Of All Selfies

On my last visit with Debbi we were determined to get plenty of photos to scrap, so we went on a bit of a selfie spree. Some worked, some failed and then you had some that just made you cry with laughter. Because I had just used the "Family Word Pack" on my last layout it gave me the idea to use the Mother word in my title on this page.

I wanted to add a bit of sparkle to my page and so I took out my embossing powders, I used 3 different gold embossing powders for the "Deer Head" and Selfie word, that comes from the "Selfie Word Pack". On the Crwons I just used 2 of the powders to make them gold but not quite as sparkly. I painted the "Dainty Alphabet" letters with acrylic paint and then clear embossed over them.

I used the same paint and emboss treatment on the camera from the "Mini Cameras Set", to finish it off I added a small clear enamel dot. I did some handwritten journaling on the journaling card but why is it we never like our own handwriting?

Happy Mother's Day with Bo Bunny

I seem to be on a bit of a cardmaking roll at the moment so I just thought I would share with you a few more cards I have created using various new collections from Bo Bunny.

It's Mother's Day here in the UK and after having lost power for the whole of the day and into the night yesterday I thought I was going to have to make my card in the dark! Could have been very tricky fussy cutting the gorgeous spray of flowers that is on the Wreath paper found in the Secret Garden Collection.

After I had fussy cut the flower spray I used some silicone glue to pop it up over the Ornate Frame die cut, I like using the silicone because it is flexible, similar to hot glue except it takes a long time to try which can be its downfall. I used a tiny glass jar on a shelf to hold the flowers, with a little string tied to the rim.

I created a simple Baby Boy card using the Toybox Collection and a couple of Silhouette cut files.
Even tho it is really simple I think it looks so cute!

Finally I was very excited to play with more of the new dies that were recently released Bike Ride Dies. I used the toybox collection again, this time my card has a summer feel to it  with yellows and blues. I also used the Cloud dies from the Fly away set. I think they make a great combination.

Hope you all having a Happy Scrappy weekend
