Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934

The December GDT challenge at Sketchy Thursdays was a real brain teaser for me but I really wanted to give it a go
This was the sketch
and after dreaming about it then 5 hours deliberation, this is what I came up with

My Nov scrapbook nook kit had the new Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 range and boy this paper is lush. This Lo doesn't even begin to show you how georgeous it really is.
The other part of the challenge was to use at least 5 photos and a little sparkle I added a few gems to the centre and some on the butterflies. I am really pleased with how this turned out in the end.

the little gems are from the Bloom & Grow range
alphas from AC & Kaiserkraft
I bought some crepe paper and made a little rose with a brad centre with it

a scalloped punch edge and some doodling aroun the circle at the bottom
I distressed all the edges and added a small cluster of embellies at the bottom right of the pic
The papers are MME wild asparagus of course on a kraft background

The new palette for CCG went up this morning and I have had fun inking and painting and flocking all over the place

Skissedilla challenge 85

Found another great sketch challenge blog Skissedilla

Scrapping the music challenge

Have scrapped tons of the girls and never seem to get many pics of Josh, I like this one I managed to snap in the summer(plus he's not pulling a daft face so double bonus!)
the song for the challenge was Keep the Faith by Bon Jovi. The title is a bit of a sarcastic one as anyone who knows Josh will know he is anything but wayward lol
No pp used just some chip chatter alphas and some mesh as a mask and paint
The gears are a sizzix die

The best present

Decided to use some of my bargain SU papers (sweet pea) to create a christmas LO using non christmasy papers. Love the bauble punch that I borrowed from a friend (I shall have to get one of my own now lol)

I followed a couple of challenges for this LO and decided it was about time I used some of my many stamps on a LO the swirls were Autumn Leaves and the title was papermania, I got all misty and flicky and I hope you like the result!
These are the challenges I used

Lets get shabby challenge

Loved the inspiration from the DT over on the let's get shabby blog so decided to play along
Have recently got my new printer up and running so decided to scan in some of my older pics that I dont have copies of. I found this one of Josh in the bath when he was about 8 - 12 months old and loved how it looked printed in black & white
The challenge was to use 3 things from your sewing box 1 of them being pins. I used
2 decorative pins
3 safety pins
a white popper type thing that was in a sewing kit I have
a cross stitch floss bobbin
jeans pocket
the beaded starfish was off of an old broken hairgrip
and a couple of pieces of cotton lace

"Happy tickets" from House of 3
grommets by WRMK
Vinyl thickers
alpha beads & ribbon from stash
I inked and distressed and misted all over
and stitched it all together on my sewing machine
Absolutely loved creating this and am very pleased with the result
Hope you like it too

Dirty scraps challenge 18

I love this pic of Star I had it printed in clour, sepia & B&W
I brought with me some older gogo kits that I bought from the UK scrappers marketplace & this LO was using one of them.
This was the challenge at Dirty Scraps

REALLY?? I MEAN REALLY?!

We all have those events that happen, or those people we meet when you just say REALLY?
I can't believe this is even happening! Who is this person and why in the world have they crossed my path?
These things ONLY happen to me, it's crazy!!
Did I just drop my phone in the toilet really?
Did they really just say that to me??
I cannot believe I did that in front of everyone!

You know those crazy moments that leave you speechless because it's too much!
That's the page I challenge you to get dirty with!

When I thought about something that left me quite speechless and that was when I found out I was going to be a Grandmother.
There is journalling on the tag that reads : "I wasn't ready to be a Nanny at 39 and you only 15, I wish I could go back to those first moments when I found out, because you have made me so proud" xxx
I went for a throw it all on type of vintage/shabby chic look lol
There are elements from over 10 different manufacturers on there!
I'm really pleased with after the 6+ hours it took me to create
Hope you enjoy looking and I appologise for my waffling

Don't get in a flap

Found a new challenge site called Mission to create where you have a list of 5 "ingriedients" to incorporate onto your LO
The concepts for this time were
Use photobooth pics
Use Brads
Use 6 pieces of pp 1" or smaller
Stitch a border
Use this colour scheme

You have to use at least 3 of the 5
I created this and almost managed all 5, but I did
1.use brads (the cat and the photo turns)
2.Use the colour scheme
3.Stitch a border
My pics were almost photobooth and I use a couple of small squares of paper (unless you cheat and say the alpha stickers are pp LOL)
This was a real fun LO of daft Peggy poking her head thru the cat flap as she does when she wants letting back in!!
Hope you enjoyed looking, all crticism/praise gratefully recieved

By The Sea

Been wanting to scrap this picture for ages but couldn't find the right look. I found a pad of Basic Grey granola and I loved how the colours matched. Along with a title from Scrap that Poetry and sketch 199 from Pencil Lines I was well underway.

I am very pleased with the end result and I love how Rodney looks somehow majestic in this pic of him by the sea at Challaborough Bay

Scrapaholix

I returned to the scrapaholix group this month, and it was so great to be around old and new friends
I always find it a big challenge scrapping anywhere other than my own craft room but I was pleased that I almost completed a page!! lol
I came home and finished it off and then made another page from the kit
Now naughty Kim has got me "needing" cosmic shimmer powders LOL
as the background on the "Cherished" LO is done with versamark and the powders LUSHHHHHHHHHHH And a thankyou to Claire for not needing her lovely stamped flowers which I made use of. ..

I did add some swiss dot bazzil on this one and the little tabbehind the pic has oops will have hidden journalling on it and I have just noticed that my little dangly heart on the flower on the right is not "dangling" in this pic lol

Bad bad blogger am I

Over a month with no post how bad a bloglet am I???
I have been scrapping but just not posting lol
Well I always like to see a pic in my post so this is one of my most favourite ones from my recent "girlie" break in Poole.
At the back of the caravan we stayed in were some cute squirrels, of course I spent half the time trying to capture one(in a photo of course!)
Think I struck lucky this particular time

back soon with some scrappiness

2 for 1 or 1 for 2

Did this LO for 2 different challenges
1 was another scraplift over at XOXO and the other a sketch challenge at Creative Scrappers
This one took me along time and there is "real" right there on the page. I still cannot find the courage to put the journaling there in black and white so am going to make a little envelope and attach it to the back.
Am getting to grips a little more with the cosmic shimmer mists and this time I actually managed to get it where I wanted it lol. I blanket stitched around the edge of the black cardstock and stitched the journaling lines and around the word "my". the bird stamp is from basic grey, up in the right hand corner I tore a hole in the cs and stitched it back up with wire (there is a sticker behind it that says "home is a refuge).
I used some liquid pearls trailing from the butterfly and a couple of rub ons all of which are just lingering about in my stash (am getting through all the "odd bits" slowly)
I did journal a few lines which say " My Space isn't measured by cubic feet"
Wow a big description for me!

Colour Combo's Galore is back

I love this site but it has been all quiet over there for a few months but now it is back and this was the colour combo for this time
turquoise - icing - cookie dough - pink sprinkles
I had this LO sitting on my desk for a couple of days and with a couple of colour changes it fits right in with the combo
Here is the LO I completed

I used a page from the sky magazine and the tear was a happy accident that I filled with gems for a bit of bling. I made the tissue paper flower  and I think they are really effective.
The chipboard alpha is by BG and I used white acryllic paint behind the photo. I have distressed the edges but this was the best pic I could get and had to crop the edges off lol

So Girly

I found a fun new challenge blog called XOXO where each week the 'lipstick chicks' each post a layout and you pick and choose as many as you want to scraplift elements from to create your own layout. How fun is that??? This month is sponsored by Color Me Miki and they have the most generous kit I've seen up for grabs this month. So go play along!!
Here is my lift of this LO by Lizzie Oakly I have wanted to try a 6x12 lo for ages and this great LO convinced me to do so.

I love Peggy in this pose she is so girly when she wants to really play
I used crate paper seasons collection again with a totally different look

Finally something to share - out for publication!!

Seems like forever ago that I shared a LO
I have been in a dark place and my mojo has been lord knows where, so I went on the lookout for a challenge as they always drag me back up
Over at Sarahs cards the challenge was to use paint on your LO, I love stamping with bubble wrap and I was rather pleased with the way the background came out (on the 2nd attmpt that is LOL)
I don't really like this pic of me and DH but my daughter was down scrapping with me and we each chose a picture for the other to use! I gave it a soppy title (and I know the words are and they called it puppy love.) cos it's a soppy sort of pic
The little pink puppy is actually a page from a notepad I have and the PP is from my scraps box (the "love" word is love elsie fabric paper)
Hope you like it
