The story of the little duck
Debbi and I were a bit lost in the parking lot trying to find the scrap store. I spotted this cute little wooden bridge that led to a large pond/lake and I suggested it might be a nice place to take a picture. On the bridge that led to the pond/lake was a little duck running up and down trying to get to the water below. He couldn't fit through the rails, but there was a small gap in the top of the fence that we figured he must have come up from, so I carefully captured him (of course stopping for a quick photo, after all that was why we were there right?)
His poor little feet were roasting hot, I took him and placed him over the fence where he had a short walk down to the water, off he toddled and Debbi and I walked back to the other end of the bridge to watch him get back in the water, but where was he?
Lot's of quacking coming from a bush halfway down let us know where he was, the daft duck was stuck!!
Eventually he released himself from said bush and ran the rest of the way to the water - Job done, one duck rescued
I will add this story to an envelope on the back of the layout later
A few close ups
The wood veneer circle frames where we found the little duck on the bridge. I cut the Rescue title on my cameo
My first 6 word memoir, explains the story briefly. I had a bit of an accident with my first background paper involving a bottle of mist with it's lid not screwed on properly!!!
I painted the mist on as a strip down the centre, to represent the journey back to the water. Then I added some stamping with a grid stamp and some machine stitching and lastly some tangled thread which I think gives some movement to the page.
Found these cute little duck type prints in my rub on drawer (they are by Basic Grey - Archaic) On my cameo I cut a circle (it looks more like pebble shapes) from the same white cardstock as my background, I filled some of the shapes with patterned paper to create my own textured background.
I can't wait to see what
Debbi's looks like this week! (for those who don't know we are using the case files at
CSI each week to document the time we spent together in June)
Hope you will find time to play along this week
