How Much Is Too Much 170

My friends Fi & Marissa and I decided to have a little Royal Wedding scrap party on skype. The first challenge was for us to make a royal crown for the occasion
Here is mine
even tho I am away and with limited supplies I was quite plased with this effort!
Fi picked us a challenge to do over at How Much is too Much I have visited before but never played along
This was the challenge
Despite all the 'negative talk' about scrapbookers trying not to feel like they are 'behind the 8 ball' when it comes to their albums, I think we have all felt that way at one time or another. The challenge this time is to use...

8 patterned papers
8 rubons
8 brads
8 stickers

8 word title

Have fun with the number 8!
And here is my take

Using Echo Park for the record again from the Scrapbook Nook kit
8 pp - check
8 rubons- check
8 word title(and that took some thinking about)- check
8 stickers well actually there are 32 which is a multiple of 8! - check
Great challenge that certainly took some thinking about

How slack of me

Not posted for a few days have been busy enjoying the Welsh countryside in this darling cottage we are staying in for the week.
It is the cutest, most homely place we have ever stayed at (will share a separate post on it)
But I have managed 1 layout so far using this months Nook kit which features the lush Echo Park - for the record
The pic is of me when I was 17 with a nice figure (not sure about the hair tho surely it was trendy at the time)
I wanted to share that everytime I look at this pic I see how I wish I still looked like that!

I thought I had packed some bubble wrap but couldn't see it so used a hexagonal glass to stamp on the cardstock instead a little bit of hand stitching finishes it off

Pencillines 234

Am loving sketches again at the moment, here is my take on this weeks sketch over at Pencillines (love that place!!)

Sorry about the glare from the acetate overlay
Crate paper pp overlay is from MME as is the pennant journalling block, the little green circle on the left is a gin-x coaster and the flower brad and thin pennant are from MME stella rose collection, a bit of prima packaging on the right & the alpha is from my stash. Some simple clean lines and layering!

Sassafras Sketch Challenge

Decided to dig through my sadly negleted box of Sassafras stash ,why didn't I do it sooner!!
There is a sketch challenge over at the Sassafras Blog for April not played along there before so I thought I would join in
Used paper from different ranges (thats one of the great things about Sass you can mix and match so easily)
Am pleased with the result, have been wanting to scrap these pictures for ages of Star all covered in chocolate ice cream
How cute is that Little elephant from the Cherry Delicious range??

Pencillines 233

Wow the sketch over at Pencillines was a real mind teaser for me this week. Im not overly happy with it but was quite pleased with how the background cardstock came out. I flicked some different colour mists around and then outlined each blob with a grey fineliner, there will be journalling on the tags explaining that it was Star's 6th birthday and Danielle made her the yummy cake

Papers are Echo Park - little girl range and some chip thickers from AC

XOXO April

This week me and my friend Fi  decided to set each other a little challenge out of our comfort zone
We hopped on over to XOXO  (who are sponsered this month by Candy Shoppe Designs)and picked each other a layout to scrap that was a little different from our normal style.

Fi picked one for me by Cheryl Whittaker, when I first looked I thought oh that ones looks quite easy for me to lift but I was wrong lol , after lots of shifting and cursing and shifting of products I finally settled on this

Mostly papers from Echo Park but a little American Crafts and 3 bugs in a rug plus a few embellies by Imaginisce there too, very busy busy LO for me and I'm not quite sure I pulled it off but overall it's a fun happy LO of Star washing her dolly in her paddling pool

Scrapjacked again

Decided to lift another of the great layouts over at ScrapJacked this time I chose Vicki
I also used colour combo187 over at CCG
The inspiration pic was lots of colourful umbrellas and this picture of my 3 when they were younger having a picnic under a big brolly fitted perfectly. I used crate paper seasons collection and just layered it all up with some scenic route chippie stars border punches and elements from the embellishements from the seasons range. Had fun with this one, hope you like it

Scrapjacked

Loved the DT work over at scrapjacked this month had a hard job choosing which one to lift first!
I chose Mandy's LO to lift because I had some of that lovely rose ribbon in one of my kits last month and I loved the panels
Here is my lift
I used Crate Paper Emmas Shoppe (think thats what its called)
Some Maya Road chippie butterflies a Prima swirl and the pink alpha is from my stash, I stitched around all the panels did a bit of fussy cutting on the frame all the other elements are from the 12 x 12 chipboard sheet
I am going to put this in a box frame for my godaughters birthday I am hoping she will like it
Hope you like it

Lovin you is easy

Another one for the paper secrets birthday challenge that my Wonderful 'friend' Fi told me about!
This time it was BINGO and you had to pick a row/column and use all the elements
The row I chose was A circle, Journalling strips, Inking, Chipboard & buttons
once again older papers used sassafras this time
I cut out individual circles in white and kraft to make the border around the circle then I stitched it all down added some hearts bling and buttons, more stitching around the the edges I used a white gel pen around the photo and the journalling reads " the way that Danielle is holding Peggy shows off her baldy belly" (when we first got Peggy she was totally bald on her little belly it was so cute)
Hope you like it

The Perfect Pair

Did this for a challenge at paper secrets
Challenge was 2 ie twins 2nd birthday etc
Used papers from a few older lines. The background is collage press, the blue is MME Laundry line, Red is KI memories and the rest is crate paper. The frame I have had hanging around for ages. Letter stickers are Thickers ,jenni bowlin & papermania. I put the liquid pearls onto acetate and then cut them out, papermania pearl brads and a button & twine from my stash, my Mum gave me the tiny pack of playing cards from which I used all the 2's lol
a little flicked mist & a couple of border punches completed the LO
Hope you like it
