Santas Village

I have been wanting to share these for ages, they are up on the Bo Bunny blog today so finally I can
Santa's Village by Tracee Provis

What better way to decorate for Christmas than something you have created yourself. I love to create scenes and was really excited to see the cute elements that adorn the Elf Magic collection. I recycled some old tuna fish cans that made great bases for my ornaments, and finished them off with some paper bows and ribbon.

To start I sprayed my tin with some white auto paint, glittered one of the small doilies and cut out the middle to make a pretty edge for my tins. I fussy cut lots of different elements from the papers and used hot glue to adhere in the tin. A little tip - I needed to put some hot glue that would show at the front of my elements, to stop it from being a plain old blob I just sprinkled a little glitter on it before it dried and it looks like sparkly snow.

I cut some circles to fit the tin and then adhered most of the elements to it before gluing inside. I used some double dot cardstock to create the Elf factory building, how cute is the little one peeking out from behind the wall?. I cut some tiny bows to stick on the presents and then cut a bigger version that is attached to the top of the tin with the ribbon.

The set wouldn't be complete without the stockings being hung, again I used double dot to create the bed frame and the window behind has acetate to give the impression of Santa's sleigh flying through the sky.

Merry Christmas Canvas

I am up on the Bo Bunny blog today with this Merry Christmas Canvas

My eldest daughter loves to decorate for Christmas so I decided to surprise her with this light up canvas using the fabulous Silver and Gold collection. The collection contains deep reds and greens but it also has a lighter delicate side of rich golds and creams. When I saw the reindeer on the 12 by 12 chipboard sheet, I was totally inspired to create a scene and for him to take centre stage.
I created the background by tearing strips of paper from the collection and layering them up around the canvas, I covered them with a thin layer of gesso to soften the look further. I added some Frosting Jewels to the reindeer to give him extra texture.
I took one of  the large doilies and cut the middle out to make an arch shape over the top of the reindeer. The 12 by 12 chipboard sheet also has these cute ornaments that I dangled from the driftwood tree. I used a little talc to take the stickiness away as I wanted them to be able to move freely.

CSI 100 - Solved

Wow case file 100 already! Congrats to Debbi on creating a warm happy scrappy home at CSI, and reaching the 100th case file I decided that I would do a page all about her.
I know I say it every week but a gorgeous palette to work with this week
and my page looks something like this!
I say something like this as it was very difficult to photograph due to the fact that the pale mist I used created all sorts of unwanted shadows when I was taking the pics

I found this quote on pinterest and it summed everything up quite simply
You make me laugh so hard the tears roll down my legs(it's an age thing LOL)
I have also written a letter to Debbi that is hidden away down behind the photo I won't share it all but it starts like this.
You will look at this layout and say "oh that pic of me is terrible, look at my fat ankles and my big head" and in reply to that I say "Debbi you are a beautiful person both inside and out, you have a heart the size of the world and it encompasses all. I am so lucky to call you my Best Friend" . . . . . . .

a couple of close ups

I am a little obsessed with triangles on my layouts at the moment, I cut quite a few on my cameo along with this title. After I had stuck the solid ones down I then cut a "frame" from some of the waste and layered it behind my title.
I have incorporated a few things that Debbi loves like the skeleton leaves and of course the doilies that we had to have!

This sheet of cardstock was headed for the bin as I had tried to create a watercolour background and it didn't turn out how I wanted it to, I then was using it just as a test piece but when I went to throw it I laid my photo down on it and thought hmmm this could work after all.
I printed out Debbi's DT frame for her layouts and layered it behind my papers, I think it looks kinda cool

I really enjoyed creating my layout for this weeks file and just want to say again Congrats Debbi on reaching 100 (you don't look a day over 25 LOL)

Scrap Friends sketch challenge 19

I love the sketches over at Scrap Friends couple that with a DT box full of brand new Bo Bunny papers and the sky's the limit.

Couldn't wait to get started creating!

http://blog.scrapfriends.com.au/2013/11/sketch-challenge-19-november-2013.html
I love all the feathers that are around at the moment and this is my first layout incorporating some.
I stuck quite close to the sketch and this is what I came up with

While we were away at the cottage Leon kept falling asleep on his I Pad so created a new app "The I Pillow"!!!

I cut the feathers on my Cameo using the new Head Over Heels collection by Bo Bunny and some vellum, I also stamped the chevron arrows onto vellum and cut them out.
I used both 12 x 12 papers and papers from the 6 x 6 pad from the collection
The stamps I used to create the background are from the Mama Razzi collection.

I added some alphas from Lily Bee and Bo Bunny Zip Dee Doodle to form my title and I cut a cloud from the 6 x 6 pad for it all to rest on
I really like how this one turned out and of course I loved playing with the sketch

Here is the sketch for this month, and there is an aweseome prize of Websters pages goodies to be won by one lucky person
This is my interpretation

Scrap Around the World with Bo Bunny

This month Bo Bunny got to Guest Design at the great challenge site Scrap Around the World. Each month at SATW they have the most fabulous "mood board" which provides inspiration in many ways including a sketch
Some of the Bo Bunny team played along and we were featured on the site here
This was the mood board

And my take
It was notoriously hard to photograph but my background paper is a soft green, that I coated with gesso, when I photographed it it then gave it all those dark shadows.
I was first inspired by the bright colours in the rainbows, when I was looking for a bright photograph I found this one of my daughter with her best friend and the shape she is making with her body looked very much like the shape of a Rainbow . I used elements of the sketch, by mimiking the half circles with machine stitching also the way the title was curved around the half circles. I added the butterflies because like rainbows there are here one minute and gone the next leaving behind a little burst of happiness.

When I was creating the layout I thought to myself that I hadn't seen a Rainbow in a long while and lo and behold when I picked my little Grandaughter up from school the very next week we saw these 2 rainbows, so I snapped a quick pic on my phone.
There is so much inspiration over on the SATW blog it's one not to be missed.

It's Family time with Bo Bunny

I am up on the Bo Bunny blog today with my Family theme layout using The Avenues collection. There is always awesome inspiration over at the BoBunny blog you can check it out HERE

My youngest daughter reached 21 this year and she has grown into a gorgeous girl with a beautiful spirit. The Avenues collection is full of vintage clocks and patterns that are a perfect fit for my picture.

Bo Bunny also produce a fabulous range of stamps, I used one of the texture stamps to create a background for my layout. I then stamped out the number 21 with the Countdown set fussy cut around them and popped up on some foam dots they make a great embellishment.

The great thing about Bo Bunny collections is you know you can pick any sheet and they all coordinate perfectly, this makes layering up your photo's on your projects like a dream.

A little bit from Halloween

Whilst we don't celebrate Halloween in a big way over here all the kids love to dress up and go trick or treating.
Each year my Granddaughter and her friend come a knocking on my door and as they are "special" they get an extra special treat bag. This year Star's friends little sister was able to join in so of course I had to make a special treat bag for her too.
Bo Bunny have released some cute Kraft bags, so I decorated one of the chevron ones and I think it looks rather cute

For the older 2 girls I decorated some plain Kraft bags that I bought at the £1 shop
I used almost the same design for these and I like the look of them too
For the other trick or treaters there was this basket of candy complete with eyeball lollipops
I don't usually dress up for the occasion but Star had got ready at my house and she had a little of the white face paint left, so I got creative in the few minutes I had and I looked like this when she knocked on the door
She told her Mum the next day that Nanny had made her night by dressing up, awww she is such a sweetie
Sorry for the long post, hope you all had a great Halloween

Bo Bunny Misc Me

I'm up on the Bo Bunny blog with my Misc Me project
Misc Me by Tracee Provis

I am so excited today to share with you all my Misc Me pages using the fun Zip Dee Doodle collection. My book is based on "Me" and all the things that I love and enjoy. This is the first page of my book, it gives a simple message "It's amazing what we can acheive when we simply Believe" There are some great patterns already on the note paper, so by just adding a couple more of the pieces  you have a page that looks fab.

I used one of the Calendar dividers to make an interactive page to fit more pictures into my book. I fussy cut the tags from the notepaper and used it as an embellishment on the recipe card.

I had such fun plying with all the many elements that come in this collection and I can't wait to add some more pages to my book.

CSI 95 - Solved

We have a new case file open for investigation this week with some soft wintery colours for you to use
I solved the case like this
Evidence
Paint

Fabric
Book Pages
Tie Something
Metal
Textured paper
Tear something
I managed to get all the evidence this week!
Testimony
Document an old memory
I tucked my journaling on the tag to the left of the picture

These Blue fluffy slippers were old fashioned even when you wore them over 20 years ago Danielle, but they were your special slippers that you wore at Nanny's when you went to stay for the weekend. You had to wear them right up until you could no longer fit them on your feet and at that point "dolly" had to have them on. Cute little slippers for a cute little girl.

There are some fab prizes to be won this month over at CSI & the more cases you solve the more chances you have of winning. So head on over for some fun detective work

Bo Bunny halloween mailbox

I was up on the BoBunny blog with a new project.
Halloween is such a fun holiday, and the Fright Night collection captures that element perfectly.
I was eager to use it to create something fun to represent the holiday theme, but what to create? I have had the mailbox idea for a while, and by fussy cutting some of the elements from the patterned paper, I knew they would be just right for this mini project.

First of all, I wanted to create a base for my mailbox to sit on, so I layered up some corrugated cardboard and covered it with the Double Dot Chocolate Stripe paper which has a sort of a wood grain effect. I carefully cut the "Boo" banner from the spooky paper and attached it to 2 wooden skewers to hang across the back of the base.

The actual mailbox is cut from Double Dot Shadow Vintage, which is a great quality textured cardstock, both strong and pliable, perfect for mini projects such as these.
Underneath the mailbox is a graveyard, complete with pumpkins gravestones and ghosts. I used a leaf punch to create the grass, and I fussy cut the skeleton and layered it behind the EEK cardstock sticker, which folds down when the box is open.

I used one of the brads from the collection attached some spiders with cotton thread for you to pull open the lid and reveal the haunted village inside.

There are so many great elements to this collection, the possibilities are endless, and I had to stop myself from adding more and more!

Hope you enjoyed looking at my Halloween Mailbox. It was ultra fun to create and of course made easy by using Bo Bunny products.
